Southern Shores restaurants sometimes get overlooked as people head to Kitty Hawk restaurants and Duck, NC, restaurants and doing so should be a crime against dining out on the Outer Banks. While they aren't as numerous as the eateries in other towns, Southern Shores restaurants contain variety and the same top-notch quality that distinguishes the rest of the Outer Banks dining scene. Sit down in a homey Italian restaurant or opt to spend a night in with pizza delivery. Cool off on a hot summer day with an icy treat, such as frozen yogurt or smoothies. Slurp down local oysters on the half shell. Have a classy meet up with friends at a wine bar. Note that the beach doesn’t have many chain names among its restaurant offerings, but several of the ones here are found in Southern Shores.
A good rule of thumb to use when finding Southern Shores restaurants is to remember that the places on the left-hand side of the Bypass (if you're coming from the Wright Memorial Bridge) are in Southern Shores; those on the right are in Kitty Hawk.
