Either way, The Nags Head Shop is the oldest espresso bar on the beach and brews coffee and espresso-based drinks as well as smoothies. A few treats like biscotti and muffins are available too. There is a Java Room filled with a variety of coffee mugs, including Laurel Burch, Mara Mugs and more, plus whole bean gourmet coffee is available. The hat selection is grand, from Tilley hats, Real Deal Brazil hats, cowboy hats, ball caps and visors to silly novelty hats. They are always adding new great stuff and also sell many cool t-shirt brands like Sea Dog, Duck'd Up and Don't Forget To Duck. The eclectic collection of items includes Carruth stone sculptures, Coastal Metal wall sculptures, Minnetonka Moccasins, sandals, jewelry as well as lots of great souvenirs.
