A New Day for Avon’s Studio 12

A bright, pretty building alongside N.C. Highway 12 in Avon promises to turn you into an artist once you step inside. This is Studio 12, established by longtime owner Carolyn Schena.

With autumn’s changes come the increased chance of marine mammals stranding along the Outer Banks. First responders from Jennette’s Pier and the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island attempt to help these animals. Calls come in on the Outer Banks Marine Mammal Stranding Network hotline, (252) 455-9654. Please reach out if you see any marine animals in danger!

The NC Oyster Trail offers unique tourism experiences featuring our state's delicious oysters, and several stops are located right here on the Outer Banks, including some of the farms that provide oysters all across the state!

You can take an oyster tour, seek out a wonderful meal, or buy oysters to prepare at home. The world is your oyster! ?
