Since its founding in 1983, the Ocracoke Preservation Society (OPS), a non-profit, community-based organization, has been dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of Ocracoke Island, North Carolina. Our goal is to provide access to education, research, and exploration of the island’s rich history and culture through programs, events, and exhibits. We invite you to explore this site, and come to the museum to learn more about the fascinating history of Ocracoke!

New ornament alert! We are excited to present our two new cut metal ornament designs: Blackbeard’s flag and a ferry! We also have two other Ocracoke specific ornaments and a number of other designs as well as an “off-road” keychain. Price is $12 per piece with $5 shipping to a US address for up to five pieces. If you would like to place an order, email us (info@villagecraftsmen.com) with the designs you want and your mailing address, and we will email you a Square Register invoice with a photo of your choices. Brandon and Erin of BE Creations are our artists for these pieces.
