Holy Mackerel -- Archie Sawyer of Camden County reeled in this 44.4-pound KING MACKEREL while pin rig fishing with a live BLUEFISH this morning. The powerful fish raced away from the pier ripping line from his reel, onlookers said. It has been 11 years almost to the day he caught his last one in 2013.

Fishing picked up some yesterday with the switch in the wind. The piers had blues, Spanish, mullet, spot, croakers and a few sheepshead. The little bridge had some nice trout, croakers, blues, spot and pinfish. Bonner bridge had some sheepshead and over slot drum. In and around the inlet is stacked with red drum! Hatteras had a mixed bag of Spanish, blues sea mullet, croakers, pompano, and sharks. It’s looking like a good weekend and we are stocked up on fresh mullet, shrimp, and squid so stop in and see us before you hit the water!
