Manatee Sightings -- The OBX Marine Mammal Stranding Network reports that manatee may be visiting our waters now that it's warm again. If you see one, please call the hotline at 252-455-9654 to report on the location. In addition, they ask that you practice passive observation. "Observe from a distance and above the water and avoid touching, feeding, or giving water to manatees," says Marina Doshkov, Marine Mammal Stranding Coordinator for Jennette's Pier, who captured this image last fall.
