Since its founding in 1983, the Ocracoke Preservation Society (OPS), a non-profit, community-based organization, has been dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of Ocracoke Island, North Carolina. Our goal is to provide access to education, research, and exploration of the island’s rich history and culture through programs, events, and exhibits. We invite you to explore this site, and come to the museum to learn more about the fascinating history of Ocracoke!

We also have two other Ocracoke specific ornaments and a number of other designs as well as an “off-road” keychain. Price is $12 per piece with $5 shipping to a US address for up to five pieces. Fresh Local Black Drum with Shrimp. Caribbean-spiced and served with mango habanero salsa, accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and sautéed green beans. I've been preparing this dish with various types of fish for at least 16 years. I have to say, this is my favorite way to serve black drum.
