Dear Participants,

OBSE has had to make a change to this year's OBX Triathlon due to the extended closure of the Manns Harbor bridge. The bridge closure impacts our bike routes. While the race planning team worked with all public safety agencies to find a new route, they were unable to find a bike course that ensured the safety of race participants and those traveling on area roads. As a result, we must cancel the bike portion of the race. There's good news, however. USAT has instructed us to carry on with the event. So we will be hosting an aquathon (swim/run) that can still be ranked as a triathlon. That means you can still use it to qualify for Age Group Nationals and National Rankings. Once again, OBSE and its board are sincerely sorry. Thank you for your understanding
