Meet Islam!
Hailing from Kazakhstan, Islam is here for his first summer on the OBX! He’s our go-to guy for just about everything: line cook, prep, busser, dishwasher—you name it, Islam can do it (and always with a great attitude 🙌)
When he’s off the clock, you’ll find him doing TikTok dances 💃 and vibing to his favorite K-pop hits 🎧
We’re so lucky to have his versatility, and positivity on the team this season!

Employee Spotlight: Hira!
Say hey to Hira, all the way from Istanbul, Türkiye 🇹🇷—currently spending his exchange year here in the U.S., and his second summer in the OBX!
He says he feels like a part-time local, and honestly? We’re claiming him as one of our own 💙 OBX has that effect!
You’ll find Hira working as a bartender and busser at Red Sky, keeping things smooth behind the bar and on the floor. When he's not at work, he’s likely playing the violin (yes, really!) or getting in some good OBX swim time.
Oh, and his favorite drink? The Just Peachy!

Celebrating National Lighthouse Day on the Outer Banks 🐚✨

From historic charm to breathtaking views, the Outer Banks is home to some of the East Coast’s most iconic lighthouses — each with its own story to tell:

✨ Cape Hatteras Lighthouse
At 210 feet, it’s the tallest brick lighthouse in the U.S. and was famously relocated in 1999 to protect it from shoreline erosion.

✨ Bodie Island Lighthouse
Known for its striking black-and-white stripes and marshland setting — still lit nightly with its original lens from 1872.

✨ Currituck Beach Lighthouse
This unpainted red brick beauty stands tall in Corolla and offers panoramic views after a 220-step climb.

✨ Ocracoke Lighthouse
Built in 1823, it’s the oldest operating lighthouse in North Carolina and a charming part of Ocracoke’s quiet landscape.
