Heads up Jason's Restaurant fans, I will be leaving the Island tomorrow for a family funeral so the restaurant will be closed till Friday. I ask that everyone respects our privacy during this difficult time.

Start stretching for the next race! Unfortunately with the work NC DOT has been doing on the Manns Harbor bridge, the county feels that with the additional construction would make it unsafe for our route. With that said, we must cancel the bike portion of the race. There's good news, however. USAT has instructed us to carry on with the event. So we will be hosting an aquathon (swim/run) that can still be ranked as a triathlon. That means you can still use it to qualify for Age Group Nationals and National Rankings!

Man, we had a fun day yesterday. Great fishing but the catching was slow. Started off looking for blackfin, but they just weren't there in the numbers as they normally are and lots of false albacore. We kept a few falsies as they wanted to play with sharks later. We killed enough tuna for the catch 'n cook that night and went to goofing around. Put the "bobber" rig out for sharks, and Chris went to jigging for AJs. Sharks were actually slower than normal, and we had to wait for once. Caught a couple AJs on the jig, and both Hope and Chris got some time in the chair, pulling on toothy critters. We finished the day with a kickass dinner of fresh tuna poke', tuna tacos, and fried AJ bites at Striper's Bar n Grille.
