Butt Cans -- We have now collected and recycled more than 50,000 cigarette butts using our TerraCycle receptacles located throughout the Jennette's Pier property! Once collected, the butts are shipped to TerraCycle where they are separated by composition. The filters are melted into hard plastic (yes, cig butts contain plastic!) that can be remolded to make new #recycled industrial products such as plastic pallets. The ash and tobacco are composted in a specialized process. Thanks for keeping yours butts off our beaches!
