"What is a RASHER of BACK BACON?" ?

“Back bacon” is the name given to the most popular type of bacon eaten in the UK and Ireland. A "RASHER" is what you call a single slice of it. Back bacon is traditionally made with pork loin, unlike American bacon which is cut from pork belly (we'd call that “streaky bacon”). And don't mistake this for Canadian bacon either! Canadian bacon is a thicker, circular cut of just the loin and often comes precooked like ham. As you can see, back bacon is the best of both worlds; Delicious lean, meaty loin with a "strap" of belly fat for extra flavour.
