Welcome back to Thursday's GREET THE GUIDES, where you'll get a little behind-the-scenes peek at this year's awesome team.

Meet Amanda.

Amanda grew up in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, has lived in Portland, Oregon three times as an adult and is currently savoring her days here on the Outer Banks. Well into her first year as a W.H.A.T. team member, Amanda says she loves driving our visitors on tours, "communing with the horses and the sea, and sharing a mission with each beautiful individual at this company - which itself is a powerful force for Love."

Amanda has always been an unstoppable, creative force who finds inspiration through painting everything around her. (Check out some of her art in the gift shop!) She is also a poet! Her first book of poetry can be found on Amazon--"The Evolution of Woman" by Amanda Joy Glover. Her second book can be found if you click on her name on Amazon (though not recommended for the faint of heart.) She shares her days with her two year-old daughter, a wonderful family, and her dog named Coral (the adventure dog!)

We are often curious about what draws folks to work with us. "I have worked at a lot of places and from what I've seen, W.H.A.T. is just the best--every single person here has a heart," she says. "It makes me very happy and I feel at peace working for a company like that, for people who know about and respect the Corolla wild horses and their environment here, these are your people."
