The Artist'S Way Part 2 Workshop Series

Dare County Arts Council

Dare County Arts Councils is pleased to present The Artist’s Way Workshop Series, a weekly creativity workshop which teaches techniques and exercises to assist people in gaining self-confidence in harnessing their creative talents and skills. The workshop will be held weekly on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Dare County Arts Council in downtown Manteo. The series begins on Thursday, January 21st and runs through April 7th. Attendance for each meeting is encouraged but not necessary.

Each session encourages hands-on learning of a new animal topic or nature theme using stories, crafts, and occasionally free time in the Aquarium.  Parents can sit back and relax, as little ones play while accompanied by our education staff.

Join an Aquarium naturalist for a fun-filled learning experience during a fall hike in a nearby salt marsh. Bring your binoculars and muck along a trail in search of birds, marsh plants, and other inhabitants. You will be amazed at the abundance of life in the estuary!
 

Aquarist for a Day

North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island

Experience what it is like to work as an Aquarist as you spend a few hours of your day working with our staff behind the scenes.  Prepare food for the box turtles, visit and interact with animal ambassadors, and prep food for the largest exhibit in the Aquarium.  Once meals are prepared, observe the fish and sharks feast in the 285,000-gallon Graveyard of the Atlantic exhibit.  Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get a little "fishy."

Painting With Munroe Bell

Outer Banks artist Munroe Bell leads a painting workshop each Thursday at Dare County Arts Council.

Designed for both beginning and experienced painters, Munroe will work to develop your skills visually as well as technically. This workshop is open to painting mediums.

Students are invited to bring their own materials.
