Learn to fly at Kitty Hawk Kites’ Hang Gliding Training Center. We are the largest hang gliding school in the world, teaching hundreds of thousands (over 400,000) of students since 1974!

We have taught students aged 4-92, male and female, physically fit and physically challenged. In fact, we can accommodate paraplegics, blind, deaf and other persons physically challenged. All we require is a desire to learn how to fly. We provide beginner, intermediate and advanced instruction.
 

Kitty Hawk Kites offers both in-shore and off-shore Chartered Fishing. Our captains and guides are some of the most experienced and professional in the business and provide memorable experiences for you and the crew. There are two options for fishing tours, Off-shore chartered fishing and in-shore chartered fishing (up to 6 people).
 

Fly a reproduction of the Wright Brother's 1902 Glider! This replica was built by the Wright Experience and is one of a few in existence. The 1902 Wright Glider replica is museum quality and allows participants to experience exactly what the Wright Brothers felt as they prepared for their historic flight of the first powered plan in 1903. 

A normal flight will be around five to fifteen feet off the ground and you will fly about fifty yards. Be one of the few in the world to every fly this glider!
 

Kayaks are a blast and super versatile!  Single or double touring kayaks are great for use in the Pamlico Sound to just go for a leisurely cruise, drop a line and try to catch dinner, go for a hard workout paddle or just enjoy the sunset from the water.  Single and Double Surf Kayaks are great for trying your luck at riding waves and getting out amongst the dolphins in the Atlantic Ocean!

Smash the waves or skim along when there is no surf at all.  Skimboards are fun for any day and any condition and all the running will leave you in great shape! We rent high performance fiberglass skimboards from Zap.

This is where it all came from! Skateboarding, windsurfing, snowboarding, kiteboarding all originated with the ultimate beach board!! Boards available in a range of sizes from 6’4” to 10’2”.

Surfing lessons at HIB are 2 hours long and include beach instruction but most of the time will be spent in the water. We will provide you with a board to use during the lesson and if the water is a little cold for you we’ll set you up with a wetsuit as well for no additional charge! All you have to do is get a good night sleep the night before, get your swimsuit on, put on a little sunscreen and show up ready for a great time!
