Great Food & Awesome Service will always be what we shoot for every day with every customer and every meal we serve. Still, there is no getting around that “things” are definitely a little different than in past seasons. We thought we should share the situation with you all.
Thankfully, the many pandemic-related mandates have been relaxed and 100% occupancy is back! That is a relief. What is not back is the level of staffing required to meet demand. Many key staffers left us (the restaurant industry) for other jobs during the pandemic and are not returning.
It’s hard to explain the full extent of the gut punch the pandemic has delivered to restaurants – and especially to those of us on Hatteras Island. We want you to know that staffs are putting in silly hours to try to be there for you, our guests.
We will likely have to consider closing at least two days a week (we are currently closed on Mondays) or may need to adjust daily hours. We'll post any changes to FB once we figure it out. And we are temporarily disabling online ordering. We can take your orders by phone and of course, in person.
We know all of this will be an inconvenience to you and we sincerely apologize in advance.
We totally appreciate that you are coming back to Hatteras Island. And we get it – what an amazing feeling to be able to head down to OBX, take a dip in the ocean, kiteboard, build castles in the sand, kayak, collect shells on leisurely walks down the beach. It’s fabulous!
We hope that you can be a little more patient with us if we’re a bit slower than usual with an order or are out of a particular menu item. We are honestly doing our best to pivot back to what used to be the norm in these still-not-normal times.
